THIS IS A TEST SITE TO SHOW SOME OF OUR DESIGNS AND/OR WORKS IN PROGRESS. THE ARTICLES ARE AN OLD COPY OF BUTLERTRAINMRO DATA. YOU CAN SEE OTHER LDR DESIGNS BY USING THE DESIGN CHOOSER IN THE RIGHT HAND COLUMN. NOTE: THE CONTENT DOES NOT CHANGE, JUST THE DESIGN.
Welcome to Butler County "Twisted Spoke" chapter of TRAIN MRO, Inc. TRAIN stands for Training Rider Awareness Is Necessary. We are a Motorcycle Rights Organization (MRO) with a focus on Safety and Education. Our charter is to train drivers of vehicles and motorcyclists on how to operate their vehicles safely around each other. We believe that the single best course of action to survive an automobile accident, is to prevent the accident in the first place. |

Good morning TRAIN MRO! Spring is here (finally) and everyone is out running around on their scooters. Lots of events coming up and I just want to remind everyone, although the charity runs are a great way to spend the day, please do not forget the MRO’s (of which TRAIN is one, hence the MRO in our name…LOL). What the charity runs do is great but without the MRO’s out there keeping watch on Big Brother, we would be doing them with helmets on, bright orange vests and flags 10’ high on our bikes. Bikes that can’t be heard because Big Brother doesn’t want you to modify the factory exhaust. So when you are looking at how to spend your hard earned dollars, please reserve some of it for the MRO’s.

Motorcycle Season in Ohio begins with Heightened Safety Efforts ODOT improving Traffic Signal Safety for Motorcycles and Scooters COLUMBUS (April 29, 2009) - As more Ohioans choose motorcycles and scooters as their primary means of transportation in warmer weather, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is taking special steps to ensure their safety at intersections across the state. Over the past several months, ODOT has worked closely with the American Motorcycle Association to target automated traffic signals that are not sensitive enough to recognize when a motorcycle or scooter is waiting for a light to change. Frustrated bikers or the drivers in cars behind them may choose to run the red light, putting them and other motorists at serious risk. |

Starting with the June meeting, I am pleased to offer all TRAIN MRO members the opportunity to earn free raffle tickets for the Sony GPS that we are giving away at our August 'Psycho Circus' field meet.
Here's how it works:
Simply bring a friend to a TRAIN MRO meeting or Goodwill ride and you will receive 2 free raffle tickets for yourself. If your friend decides to join TRAIN MRO, you will receive 5 free raffle tickets. Please note, you can only receive free tickets for bringing the same guest once. In other words, you cannot bring your friend Bill to 3 separate meetings or Goodwill rides and get 6 free tickets. You will only receive 2 for bringing him to the first meeting or Goodwill ride. If Bill joins TRAIN MRO, you will get 5 additional raffle tickets.

Although most of this article is from the point of view of the Road Captain, riders should also find the information helpful. This is just the beginning. There are many things this article doesn't cover. My goal is to update this from time to time with additional information.
The duties of a Road Captain can be both challenging and rewarding. There's a lot more to planning, organizing, and executing rides than many riders realize. The following are my thoughts on what the responsibilities and qualifications of a Road Captain are, and methods used to help ensure everyone's safety and to provide an enjoyable ride. The primary responsibility of all Road Captains is to provide for the safety and welfare of all individuals within the group and any surrounding motorists or pedestrians.
