Good morning TRAIN MRO! Spring is here (finally) and everyone is out running around on their scooters.  Lots of events coming up and I just want to remind everyone, although the charity runs are a great way to spend the day, please do not forget the MRO’s (of which TRAIN is one, hence the MRO in our name…LOL).  What the charity runs do is great but without the MRO’s out there keeping watch on Big Brother, we would be doing them with helmets on, bright orange vests and flags 10’ high on our bikes.   Bikes that can’t be heard because Big Brother doesn’t want you to modify the factory exhaust.   So when you are looking at how to spend your hard earned dollars, please reserve some of it for the MRO’s.

With that in mind, TRAIN MRO, Twisted Spoke chapter, set out Sunday on one of Trolls “fun” runs.  I want to personally thank everyone who came out and supported the group, especially the new members who got to experience what a day with Twisted Spoke means.  With 15 bikes in tow, we set out on an 86 mile route to the beautiful little Indiana town of Metamora for the Strawberry Festival.  Winding our way to Richmond, then back down to Liberty and Connorsville, we arrived in Metamora about 3 p.m.  After making the 1st stop in town to get fresh strawberries and ice cream, the group split up and set about exploring the town.  A few of our crew were Metamora “virgins”.  I like taking people with me who have never been’ as it kinda’ wakes me up and lets me see thru their eyes what I maybe take for granted having been there so many times.  Everyone got along wonderfully and treated all the new TRAIN members like old family and made them feel welcome.  Leaving Metamora around 4:30, we set off back down 52 thru Brookville and on into Harrison where we stopped and had wings at BW3.  After that, we split up and went our different ways, calling it a day.

These TRAIN “fun” runs are a great way for the new members to meet and mingle with some of the older membership, make some new friends, and in some cases, renew old ones.  The idea of the “run” is to keep general membership involved.  If you have a destination you would like to go to, by all means lets us know.  If you need help in planning a route, we are available to help.  We want all members to be aware of putting together a safe and courteous run, and some of the membership has been doing this a long time, so if you have any questions or need some help, by all means, please contact me.  We value your input as a member.  As president of this chapter, I look forward to spending a lot of time with membership, on and off the road.  I will be planning more of these runs in the future, so keep an eye on the website for all the info.  I will be trying to get out e mails to everyone as the time approaches.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me at this web site.  Oh, and by the way.  I want to apologize to everyone for the glitch on the web site last week.  While updating the ride, I deleted the whole thing.  Thanks Louis for your help in walking this moron thru the do’s and don’ts of web page building.  Good thing you’re around.  Ride safe and ride free!
